Description

This project involves the development of the science and materials for Li ion batteries (LIB). As an example, the electronic character of C-F bonds can have profound impact on their efficacy as cathodes in LIB. The project will involve the development of new cathode materials that possess enhanced specific capacity, energy density, and power density. Additionally, the proposed science may also involve improving the properties of existing LIB cathode materials. Experience in synthetic chemistry and development of battery formulations is required.

 

We are seeking applications for postdoctoral positions with interested and experience in these or similar research topics. Qualified candidates will:

·         Have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or similar technical field

·         Be a US citizen or permanent resident, and

·         Have proficiency in relevant characterization techniques related to this area of research.

Additional Benefits

Awardees who reside more than 50 miles from their host laboratory and remain on tenure for at least six months are eligible for paid relocation to within the vicinity of their host laboratory.
