Description

We are working on precision waveform synthesis and metrological applications involving quantum standards such as the Josephson Arbitrary Waveform Synthesizer (JAWS). The JAWS works as a perfect quantizer: converting weakly-defined input current pulses into voltage pulses with precisely defined (V-t) areas equal to h/2e. Arbitrary waveform generation is accomplished by precisely controlling the timing and density of the input current pulses. Research activities include analog and digital signal processing, RF and microwave engineering, cryogenics, automation, device design and microfabrication, and integration with other quantum standards [1].
